Dear Ocean View Otters,


Welcome back to school! We hope you had a wonderful summer. We are excited to begin another great year together at Ocean View!


You may be wondering, What is the PTA?


The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a group of parents, caregivers, teachers, and staff who work together to make Ocean View an even better place for our children. Everyone is welcome, and every family belongs in our community.


Ocean View is proud to be Albany's only Title I school, serving families from many different backgrounds, languages, and cultures. The PTA helps make sure every student has access to fun, enriching experiences that help them learn, grow, and feel connected at school.


Last year, PTA funding helped provide:

  • Field trips
  • Classroom supplies, library support, and teacher grants
  • Teacher appreciation events
  • Family events and school celebrations
  • Assemblies and special student programs during the school day
  • Community-building activities throughout the year

One of the easiest ways to support Ocean View is to become a PTA member. You do not have to volunteer or attend meetings to join. Your membership helps fund these opportunities, strengthens our school community, and shows your support for all Ocean View students.

This year, we want to hear from every family so we can make sure that the PTA’s programming reflects the values and needs of our community. Your ideas will help us understand what is most important to our community and how we can better use the many talents, skills, languages, and resources within our Ocean View families to create even more opportunities for our students.
