This past weekend Pegasus BookStore hosted Ocean Views Celebrity Readers. Thank you to all our families that were able to join us and hear some wonderful stories from our teachers.

 
We hope everyone had a great time with all of our Halloween Festivities. Our students were so excited to show off their costumes and enjoy our annual Halloween Parade.

We had our first annual Senior-Walk for the AHS 2024 Graduating Seniors. These seniors attended Ocean View Elementary and we had the great pleasure to have them back on campus for the morning. Our current OV students were excited to greet them and to see that this will one day be them!

One of our favorite ways to end the year is Field Day. Our students rotate through different activities such as tug-o-war and limbo. Ask your student which one was their favorite! Thank you to Coach Renee and all of our volunteers for running the stations and helping everything go smoothly.

This week at Ocean View we had a wonderful week of talent. Congratulations to our 5th grade musical theater performers for a successful show! “The Great Twain Robbery” was an exciting musical that reminded us that the grass is not always greener on the other side.

We also had our in-school Talent Show for all of our students to enjoy on Wednesday. We have multiple different talents being showcased. The show is sold out, so thank you to all the volunteers that will help make it a success.

This year, our PTA has supported many of our Field Trips this year including Lawrence Hall of Science, Coyote Hills, East Bay Vivarium and an in-school puppet show for our TK classrooms. Thank you PTA for all the memories our students will carry with them.

We have a lot of fun things lined up for the last few weeks of school. Next week is Spirit Week! Check out our schedule below if your student would like to participate.

With the first trimester coming to an end, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our students, families, teachers and staff. During P.E. our students played a game with Coach Renee and they shared what they were grateful for, here are some of the student responses:

Thankful to the architects that built the school

Thankful to the artists who give us beauty.

Thankful for the people that make our lunches.

Thankful for the different skin tones in our school.

Thankful for the people that clean up after us.

Thankful for peace in our country.

Thankful for the many colors in our world that make things beautiful.

2023 Fall Festival and Walkathon

Our Fall Festival and Walkathon was on Saturday, October 21s. This family friendly event is our biggest fundraiser. This year we had not one, but two obstacle courses. We had Mr. Airbrush Hands creating his amazing graffiti hats. We had face painting, pumpkin decorating, and carnival games, with four new games, including Porkchop Speedway! And the food options were out of this world! We had D'Alicia's Taqueria Truck, Brown Cap Soft Serve Truck, Korean BBQ, Boba, Snow Cones, and all your Bake Sale favorites.   But the way that we made the most money for our school is through our Walkathon, where family and friends sponsored students to walk laps during the festival, either by the lap or for a flat donation.

THANK YOU to Rebecca, May, and all the Volunteers for another successful Fall Festival! We hope everyone enjoyed the fest and we look forward to doing it again next year.
